When you wake up in the middle of the night due to a sharp tooth pain, your daytime dentist may not be able to help. However, you can always visit an emergency dentist, without having to wait till the morning. In fact, if the pain is too acute, it is highly recommended that you do not wait and make an appointment right away. That’s because tooth pain can be unbearable at times, and it may not even let you sleep. Furthermore, if an infection or tooth decay causes the pain, going to the dentist ASAP may prevent the situation from getting out of hand.
You should also consider seeing one of the emergency dentists, when:
- a filling dislodges
- a tooth gets knocked out
In either of the situations, it is important to get the right treatment at the right time, especially if you want that the knocked out tooth be reattached. The tooth must be saved within an hour, and so you may even need to see the dentist during the wee hours. That said, for any reason whatsoever, if you need to visit the office of an emergency dentist, call them up beforehand to give them enough time to make the necessary arrangements for your treatment.
